I’ve spent the last week canvassing the streets with private client canvassers teaching them my 5-Step system.
Here are the results from my past week’s canvassing:
9 hours canvassing
170 doors reached
64 home contacts
61 qualified contacts
24 leads captured
The presentation of your script is more important than the words that make it up. Inflection properly placed in your presentation can make a lot of difference in your results.
Using inflection allows you to punch up words or phrases for greater impact. The words you inflect will completely change the meaning of a sentence. Take for example the sentence: I did not say he stole her money.
Let’s place inflection on different words in the sentence to see how it works. I’ll show the emphasized word in all caps.
I did not SAY he stole her money.
(In this version it is implied the money is stolen, but not verbalized.)
I did not say HE stole her money.
(This version implies that someone other than he stole the money.)
I did not say he STOLE her money.
(Something else happened to the money, but it wasn’t stolen.)
I did not say he stole HER money.
(Money was stolen, but it wasn’t hers.)
I did not say he stole her MONEY.
(It wasn’t money stolen from her, rather something else).
The same is true for making an effective canvass presentation.
