I owe you a bit of an apology, It’s been quite a while since you’ve formally heard from me. If I were you I’d be wondering where I’ve been. The truth is right here, very busy working with private clients and members of my Sliver, Gold and Platinum coaching programs. The last thing you probably heard about from me were the new things I was putting in place for the canvassing industry… and that’s where I’ve been. In this first issue of Canvassing Update I want to take the opportunity to fill you in on what I’ve been up to and what’s coming on the horizon with canvassing.
This newsletter will be published electronically (received in your email inbox twice a month). There will be more substance to this newsletter than any other you’ve received from me in the past. It will contain both articles, an update on what’s happening in the canvassing world as a whole, work I’m doing with private clients and information I feel is critical for you to have.
To the right of the newsletter there will be links to products and programs I have available, some free, some for fee, but all valuable resources none the less. The links in this newsletter, including links in the article will transport you to other pages on my website for the full content of information.
New in 2012
Silver, Gold and Platinum level memberships.
Early in 2011 I started holding monthly teleconference calls. The request for these became so great I turned those calls into bi-monthly calls (1 on canvassing, 1 on managing canvassing) and it became my Silver Level Telecoaching program, Silver Level membership is for individual canvassers and canvassing teams looking for continual coaching and direction for their own canvassing efforts. Bi-monthly live telephone coaching calls include canvassers, canvass managers, marketing and sales managers as well as owners on a group Telecoaching call where you get to mastermind with other non-competing companies experiencing the same challenges and success you are.
The Gold Level coaching is primarily for canvass managers and all upper management. Part of the program is geared specifically for the owners and or president for private topics related directly towards the canvass manager. Often membership into Gold follows completing the Ultimate Jump Start Canvassing Success Program and the actions implemented in Jump Start carryover to Gold Membership to help you keep your momentum moving forward. All the scripts, systems and strategies we put in motion during your month of Jump Start calls will be continued to be worked on and developed.
Platinum membership is primarily for the Owner(s) and/or President. This program is designed for companies looking to outsource the strategic responsibilities of leading their canvassing department. Like large corporations with key executives who oversee multiple branch locations I would be your Vice President of Canvassing Operations; I would strategically oversee your canvassing department and hold the canvass manager. This program is for those companies that are committed to canvassing for the long term.
I was onsite a lot more doing private coaching and training during 2012 plus have expanded my 5-Step Canvassing System into other industries, such as financial planning, insurance sales and pre-planned funeral services. Many other direct sales industries are recognizing what the home improvement industry has always know about canvassing, it’s a predictable, affordable means of lead generation. With my expansion into other industries, now is the best time to become a Canvass King member. Members will get the benefit and knowledge of canvassing applied to other industries and I’ll be delivering those strategies and tactics. Canvass King is the only place you’ll be able to get that kind of diversity.
Coming in 2013
From such a demand for me onsite with clients it’s uncovered a need that I’m sure a lot of you haven’t yet realized, and if you have, aren’t sure how to approach it. I’m talking about getting canvassers producing more in a shorter period of time. It would have a dramatic affect on sales and profitability. As my private onsite coaching clients have experienced, it’s the fasted path to the profits. Unfortunately the time constraints of travel prevent how many locations I can get to; therefore, during 2013 I’m going to conduct several live multi-day onsite coaching programs here in Cleveland.
These will be seminar, classroom and feet on the ground based training programs. The preliminary plan is to introduce a training curriculum for:
- Training new canvassing recruits
- Training field managers
- Recruiting and training Canvass Managers
- And an owner/manager’s only “Art of Managing Canvassing” workshop
I’ve long felt the canvassing industry should have an apprentice-like program, or at the very least, a formalized curriculum. I believe it will raise the level of production and competency in our industry. These training sessions will be over 5-6 days and consist of no more than 8-10 people per class, so each student can get personalized attention.
When they return to you they’ll be able to produce leads. I’m going to develop all this while continuing to expand my present live coaching programs.
